Dax is terrible at remembering people's names. As a rule, if he doesn't introduce me to someone that he starts to talk with within the first 3 seconds or so, I just offer my name and introduce myself so that it saves him the embarrassment. We have worked this out and it works out pretty well. I am "just okay" at remembering names, and don't usually have the problem... so it doesn't seem to have to work the other way for him.
But, I was wondering, are you good at remembering names? Do you and a significant other have a system worked out like this?
